The Twelfth Doctor is the twelfth incarnation of the renegade Time Lord known as the Doctor.
Personality
The Twelfth Doctor is very cheerful, charismatic, and enthusiastic, often at inappropriate times, even when in danger, and is energetic, lively, brash, eccentric, and very alien. He is resourceful and quick thinking, able to spin things to his point of view and find positive outlooks in negative situations. He still prefers to settle problems through negotiation rather than violence, but can be ruthless when the time calls for it, becoming a man of action and unafraid to pitch in with his physical skills, often bringing his mastery of Venusian aikido into play when the situation calls for it. Much like his second and eleventh incarnation, he shows a childlike recklessness, but always has a grand scheme behind his actions, often allowing foes and strangers to mistake him as a “bumbling Englishman”. Twelve is painfully aware of the need to see the "bigger picture", knowing that it is entirely proper to sacrifice a few lives if it would save millions, a moral determination which was missing from many of his earlier incarnations. He can be less forgiving at times — especially towards the Daleks and repeated enemies, such as Cybermen —, but, on the whole, is merciful.
When driven by anger or justice, he will act without hesitation to strike down those who oppose him. When thinking about a problem, he blocks out all outside distractions. He is often smug, occasionally boastful, and uses his arrogance to cover his insecurities. He becomes impatient when people don’t “keep up” with him or don’t “notice everything”, but is more than happy to explain to people if they’re confused, especially if it happens to feed his ego.
Like his previous incarnation, he is quite inept at romance and becomes awkward and uncomfortable when talk of feelings and emotions get thrown around. Although he has resolved with his survivor’s guilt, some of it still remains.
Appearance
The Twelfth Doctor is handsome, skinny, and above average height with black hair that has a tendency to stick up and blue eyes that can become as cold and empty as ice when angry. He is more of a stylish Doctor, opting for well-cut suits, such as Westwoods, and casual t-shirts, when the mood and setting calls for it.
Habits and quirks
Twelve thinks aloud when he’s panicking or stressed, using wild hand gestures to explain and calculate, that often confuse and sometimes unintentionally infuriates people. He rambles at times, sounding like he’s talking nonsense. He has incredible eyesight and an eidetic memory and can scan an entire scene and pick out tiny details, capable of Sherlock Holmes-like feats of extrapolation. He can determine an object’s properties simply by its taste or smell. He speaks with an English accent and makes frequent references to popular Earth culture. A habit occasionally displayed was a tendency to mangle and combine earth idioms, such as "Time and tide melt the snowman", "A stitch in time... takes up space" and "Fit as a... trombone", like his seventh incarnation. Like previous selves, he appears to have the ability to carry a large and diverse number of objects in his pockets and he takes random objects from his pockets to assist him in a situation.

It is during his twelfth incarnation that the being known as the Valeyard (the personification of the Doctor’s evil) is created.
